As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with nearly two decades of experience, I provide therapy that is both clinically grounded and deeply human. My practice integrates Trauma‐Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, early childhood psychotherapy, and perinatal mental health frameworks to support individuals and families through complex emotional and relational challenges
My name is Tanasia Betts and I am a licensed professional counselor. Here's how I can help you reach your goals.
Trauma
Many people struggling with anxiety and depression are carrying the effects of unresolved trauma. Together, we'll explore the experiences and patterns that continue to impact your life while using evidence-based approaches to support lasting healing. In a safe, supportive space, you can break unhealthy cycles, build resilience, and reclaim your sense of peace and purpose.
Christian Counseling
I believe healing is strengthened through both faith and therapy. I integrate evidence-based counseling with biblical principles to help fellow believers navigate life's challenges, find hope, and experience emotional, mental, and spiritual growth in a supportive, Christ-centered environment.
Couples Therapy
Every relationship faces challenges, but you don't have to navigate them alone. I don't take sides—I choose the relationship, creating a safe space where both partners can feel heard, rebuild trust, strengthen communication, and reconnect. If you and your partner are ready to invest in your relationship, I'd be honored to walk alongside you.
I grew up on the South Side of Chicago, and that experience shapes everything about how I approach this work. I founded Accepting Psychology with a clear mission: to deliver dedicated, rigorous care to people who are too often underserved. I'm a licensed psychologist with over a decade of experience across hospital and clinical settings, and I specialize in helping adults navigate trauma, anxiety, depression, and the specific challenges that come with men's mental health and major life transitions. I understand that taking the first step toward therapy can feel vulnerable, and I'm here to provide a secure, affirming space where you can move at whatever pace feels right.
I believe therapy works best when clients feel safe, respected, and genuinely understood. My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and grounded in helping people navigate life's challenges with greater clarity and confidence. I strive to create a supportive space where clients can explore their experiences without judgement while building practical tools for growth, healing, and lasting change.

I go by Vicky! I have been doing therapy since 2014 and became a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT) in 2017. Becoming a therapist has been a lifelong journey and I truly believe it is my calling in life. There is no higher privilege or honor than to be able to hold space for people looking to heal from their wounds, and I hold the highest respect for every client who seeks treatment. I believe that each person holds their own answers to their healing journey and my role is to be a loving guide and companion along the way. No matter what you're coming in for, we can and will get you relief and return you to the best version of yourself.
I have been a psychotherapist for almost 15 years seeing clients in a variety of settings including out patient hospital/group setting, clinical settings, and private practice. I am passionate about my work as a psychotherapist. Both clients and colleagues have labeled me with a "tough love approach" while simultaneously challenging my clients to reach their potential. While hiring, training and supervising new therapist, I would often remind them, "Clients don't care what you teach them, until they know that you care about them".
I have years of practice across clinical, executive, and case management roles. I've worked with adults and older adults navigating everything from decades of unprocessed trauma to the kind of anxiety that makes everyday life feel like an uphill climb. I'm experienced, I'm direct, and I genuinely believe therapy works best when you feel like you're being heard — not assessed.
My approach is eclectic because people are complex. I don't believe in rigid scripts. I draw on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), somatic techniques, and strength-based methods — adapting what's most useful for where you are right now. I accept Aetna, Anthem Blue Cross CA, Blue Shield of CA, Cigna, Carelon Behavioral Health, and more. I offer telehealth sessions throughout California, so no commute required.
